The Return of the Outlaw

by Christian Thomas Golden

Everyone’s in mourning. Some of us are throwing black roses. Some of us are crying ourselves to sleep. Some of us sit paralyzed. Some of us are drowning our sorrows. Some of us are praying for resurrection. Some of us are fighting for it.

When the law forsakes justice, the outlaw returns.

You see, mankind has a basic need for justice. In fact, I’d even say we have a basic instinct to execute justice.

We can all feel it: justice is far from us, yet it resides within us. When we can’t bring forth what is within us, an internal imbalance is created.

There is only one way to reinstate equilibrium.

The return of the outlaw.
