One Man’s Constructs
by Christian Thomas Golden
A handshake is a handshake. A kiss is a kiss. A hug is a hug. Touching is touching, tasting is tasting, hearing is hearing, smelling is smelling, and seeing is seeing: all of which are but experiences constructed and limited by our ability to perceive. So it is with those higher constructs: romance, morality, friendship, disdain, philosophy, movement, car, and sun. To value them is no more foolish than to value anything else within our ability to perceive. Love is just as real as frog. Frog is no more real than love.
