My God, My Love

by Christian Thomas Golden

Living, breathing, moving
yet forever unchanging.
Loud enough to move mountains,
softer than a whisper.
Peaceful as sleep.
Terrible as war.
Open as the ocean.
Hidden as forgotten secrets.
Forgiving as the wind.
Vengeful as a mourning father.
Sweeter than honey.
Bitter as fermented fruit.
Mysterious, untouchable,
familiar like a look in the mirror.

The word of my God,
my Father, my Brother,
my Friend, my Peace,
My Confidence, my Strength,
my Comforter,
my Life,
my Love.
